Video Transcript:

this video I'll reveal seven hidden signs that will give you an indication of if you might suffer from ADHD without knowing it or if you already know you have ADHD may just blow your mind because many people think that ADHD is just about focus and attention but I've experienced moments where my actions or inability to stop certain behaviors made me question my sanity and then years later when I was in the process of getting my diagnosis I ran through these symptom checker questions and all of a sudden everything explained itself ADHD was not just about focus and attention I always used to blame and question myself but next to somewhat explainable behaviors like annoying others for the dopamine being addicted to coffee or being overly sensitive to rejection there are seven behaviors that just blew my mind when I found out that they're related to ADHD and these are the ones I want to share with you today so you can stop blaming and questioning yourself and realize that ADHD truly is a whole different way of seeing and experiencing the world I went viral multiple times by just sharing some of the behaviors on Tik Tok where we ended up getting over 200 million views in total but in this video I won't just tell you what they are but also why they're linked to ADHD as well as the current science behind it and I've saved the best for last are you ready to have your mind blown well in that case welcome back to ADHD Vision where we help you thrive instead of just survive so if you have ADHD why don't you consider subscribing before we dive in if you think you have ADHD please know that just because you may engage in some of these behaviors it doesn't mean you 100% have it it's not about if you do these things from time to time it's about the frequency and intensity at which you do them which for us is usually very high but stick around until the end of this video to find out how to actually get an indication of if you have ADHD or not because I got you covered let's dive into unknown ADHD behavior number one instead of just binging movies or TV shows for the dopamine you will very often also be able to predict their plots early because your brain is really good at fast processing and pattern recognition it's like within the first 20 minutes you already know who will die how and when and while this ability is great to help you solve problems or come up with creative ideas it can be very frustrating for the partners or friends you are watching a movie with who don't want to be spoiled this is usually also the reason for why you prefer watching films with crazy storylines that your brain cannot predict so you can actually enjoy them any Interstellar fans out there don't let me leave Mo but why is this new neuroimaging Studies have shown that the brains of individuals with ADHD exhibit unique connectivity patterns particularly involving areas responsible for attention learning and emotional regulation which is actually a real cognitive advantage and some may even say superpower because this enhanced skill allows us to also excel at complex problem solving tasks helps in deciphering intricate puzzles and even helps navigate social dynamics with Keen Insight it's why when you're meeting people for the first time you usually know who's bullshitting and who's being real almost instantly but in this case my favorite aspect has got to be being able to predict movie plots early let's move on to the second one which completely blew my mind in arguments instead of just accepting other people's behaviors you often don't have the patience for people who refuse to take accountability and own up to their mistakes because you've been told to take responsibility for your behaviors your entire life you've likely had the experience of being frequently corrected or criticized throughout your years which has led you to become a lot more self-reflected and honest which is also why you tend to have a strong sensitivity for justice get angry and ultimately withdraw from people who don't behave the same now Research indicates that Justice sensitivity is the most common in the inattentive ADHD type which would be me by the way and is also most common in women several factors contribute to this heightened sense of justice one key aspect is the unique functioning of the Ed brain which includes differences in the dopamine system that regulates emot itions and motivation these neurochemical differences can lead to a stronger emotional response to unfairness and a persistent desire to correct it behavior number two strong sense for justice moving on to number three instead of just listening to the newest hits you often love listening to the same song on repeat not just because you like it but because once you have a new favorite song and your brain can anticipate it when it plays you can reduce your anxiety and increase dopamine to incredibly high levels and so it's a very easy and predictable able way of boosting your low mood and motivation immediately but because of your constant craving you usually keep playing the song until it becomes too repetitive and there's no dopamine left and so repetitive listening becomes a form of self soothing and emotional regulation for us also repetitive music can create a predictable environment that helps block out distractions and improve focus on tasks at hand which is why white noise Brown noise lowfy or focus music in general has incredible benefits for us this is further proven by studies which show that we need more noise than neurotypical people for optimal cognitive performance but my favorite aspect of this Behavior has definitely got to be listening to Crazy Frog on repeat when needing to clean out the dishwasher behavior number three listening to the same song on repeat let's keep going to unknown adhc Behavior Number Four after a long day instead of just taking a hot shower or reading a book you may often binge TV shows or play games late into the night not just because you like it but because these activities give your brain a sense of Freedom that it doesn't usually have throughout the day leading to so-called Revenge bedtime procrastination even though you know you'll be worse off by tomorrow it's more important for you to finally chase that fast dopamine without any feelings of guilt or shame and your low levels of self-control which are even lower late at night make it very difficult to stop you then lose track of time don't hit your sleep goals and the cycle often repeats itself behavior number four revenge bedtime procrastination and by the way I'm curious what's a TV show you just can't stop binging at the moment for me it used to be Prison Break for sure they ruined the last season though let's move on to number five this one really went around social media but nobody ever really explained it if you have ADHD you may find yourself strongly disliking afternoon appointments it's not because you can't wait for them but rather because you struggle to accomplish anything significant before they occur you feel stuck in waiting mode where no matter what you try to focus on your mind keeps reminding you about the upcoming meeting you're trapped in executive dysfunction and unable to focus on anything else often this is actually overcompensation anxiety takes over and your fear of being exposed as a late person which you've experienced very often comes into play studies also show that ADHD affects an individual's perception of time making it hard to gauge how long activities take and to manage time appropriately behavior number five hating afternoon appointments let's move on to number six rather than avoiding competitive situations with others you often try to create them out of thin air not because you like conflict in fact it's usually quite the opposite but because competition motivates your brain to actually start on a task since all of a sudden it's no longer just about starting but winning effectively beating your task initiation problem and the hardest thing for us is usually starting and once there's a challenge you've made that task interesting and your brain fires the chemicals that you need however because your brain is so difficult to satisfy and needs to constantly chase the next thing you usually won't spend long celebrating your victories but one thing I need to add here if you're watching this video and or anything like me you might struggle with procrastination Focus or executive dysfunction at times if that's the case I got good news for you most people have no idea that we can leverage the way our brain is wired to instantly get our brain to focus and get things done without procrastination or executive dysfunction using a super simple process if you want to know how this works check out the link in the video description in there I linked a free video training explaining exactly how this works how I used it to consistently get things done and make faster progress than ever in my life this works for almost anyone and any task no matter how boring it is so feel free to check out the free training this process might just change your life just like it change mine and the lives of endless others behavior number six competitiveness let's move on to the last one which was bittersweet to find out about instead of carelessly throwing away old things that you don't need anymore you're actually a lot more likely to keep old items that accompanied you throughout important events in your life not because you may want to sell them or give them away but so your brain doesn't forget the memories associated with them this is why our houses are usually full of hoarded stuff people tell us we don't need and unfortunately we usually forget where we placed our items which can lead to a bit of fr frustration several studies have explored the relationship between ADHD and hoarding behaviors this is for everyone who once thought they were just messy no you weren't you just may really care about your past also we have the symptom called out of sight out of mind which leads us to always having this organized mess on our work desk we know exactly where everything is because it's in sight and we don't forget we couldn't bear someone cleaning it all up and shoving it in drawers so Behavior seven not throwing away old items now for everyone who's not diagnosed and is all of a sudden questioning their whole reality trust me I know how that feels don't worry I got you because I've actually recreated my own symptom checker from 7 years ago and made it completely free and super easy to do over type form just click the link below to test yourself and get a score indicating whether you might have ADHD it literally takes less than 10 minutes I'd also recommend watching this video on how to become a productivity Powerhouse with ADHD stay inspired and I'll see you very soon that's wrap
