I am a Target accountant earning £775,000 a year and in this video I'm going to show you how I spent my money in January so in January I actually earned £ 5,460 after tax pension all those things the reason being I had my old jobs holiday pay which I had acred and I got my new job pay but that wasn't for the full month that was only from the 9th of Jan so those two combined YouTube I made 137 other income was £130 and this was a leave-in gift from my old job which was really kind of them but yeah I withdrew it in January uh I had budgeted £50 from Tik Tok but I didn't realize with the Creator Rewards program you only get the money a month after the end of the month in which you made the video total inflow was 5,727 in the month now moving on to my fixed outflow so these are mainly housing costs so these were my mortgage rent and service charge a lot of people asked why I was paying both I live in a shared ownership flat so I own 25% and 75% is subsidized rent that is why it's still so cheap and also I split my bills with my partner exactly in half so yeah we have it quite good so my portion of the mortgage was only 165 rent and service charge my portion was only 368 council tax £72 each £34 each for electricity £32 each for gas £ 13 each for water £18 for internet making our total housing cost only £71 each in the month which is really good for a one bed flat in London my next fixed outflow was the monthly phone contract I pay £46 a month and then I spent £ 678 on my family in January this is partly a fixed outflow and partly variable so I pay my mom £400 a month just to support her because she's incredible and the remainder in this total is just Christmas gift my credit card statement runs from the 20th of December to the 19th of January so all those last minute presents that I got my family is included in this total so not exactly a fully fixed cost this was just a higher month because of Christmas and then subscriptions were £77 which is quite a lot more than I had budgeted I only budgeted £24 and that's because my gym membership even though I canceled it they still took my money for January um so that's £40 that will be saved going forward and there's also a few subscriptions that I thought I had cancelled but I hadn't so yeah I need to increase my budget actually and now on to my variable outflows so groceries I spent £241 which is slightly above my budget of 200 uh transport was 223 which is a lot more than my budget but that's only because I had to get one of my wheels changed for my car my tires sorry my biggest outflow is this little cutie hi he's now nearly 6 months old and he is expensive oh my God especially in January because I only got him on the first of December so yeah in January I was still buying a lot of new things for him so £391 I spent on Theo but of that £391 £120 was actually for a puppy School course thing that I booked for him he made friends and I also paid £49 for borrow my doggy it's like an annual fee and because of that I've actually met people who walk him for free now so yeah he's very lucky and then on daycare I spent £118 the reason this isn't too high is because I only got into the office 2 days a week and on one of the days if my partner is working from home then I don't need to pay for daycare so each month it really does depend on whether my partner is able to look after him for that one day or not and then toys and treats I spent £104 going forward I won't need to so his costs will come down in the future he's so cute but he is very very spoiled aren't you and then for shopping I spent £60 and this was just for a bridesmaid outfit I had to get tailored so this was the deposit for the Tailoring apart from that I did not buy a single thing for myself in January and then eating out was quite bad I spent £65 and then for other I spent £19 and £4 of that was me stupidly not canceling subscriptions on Apple App Store so it was some sort of collage makeer app and they were billing me $4.99 or something like that every single week for 3 weeks and I didn't know until I checked and then I also spent £5 just on eyebrow threading in total for the month including my fixed and bu variable I spent £ 2775 of the £ 5,727 I had earned so after that I had £ 2,952 remaining again this is just a lot higher because of the acred holiday pay for my old job if I didn't have that I would have only earned about 4,100 each month so yeah I would have had a lot less disposable income and of that remaining money I put 1,000 in my stocks and shares Isa so I invest in the S&P 500 and NASDAQ and a little bit in a gold ET F these are all ETFs I use invest engine um I just find them the best platform for me this is not sponsored by the way it's just what I've been using for years now and any remaining money I just put in my cash iser normally I would actually invest a lot more and put it in my stocks and shares or crypto the reason I didn't in January is because I have a big holiday coming up in March this month now I'm taking my mom to Korea for 2 weeks nearly 2 weeks we're going for 12 days and yeah it's a holiday that I've been looking forward to and I am not going to cheap out on the holiday I want to enjoy I want her to you know get all the nice treatments go shopping do everything so that's why I put the money in my cash iser because I need money for my holiday I don't want to be stingy on my holiday and then that means remaining I just had £152 which I just kept in my current account as like a buffer so that is pretty much all my spending in January so 26% of my income was fixed outflows and 22% was variable the remaining 52% went into savings and Investments so yeah I'm really happy with how I spent my money in January I do just need to cut costs with Theo and eating out if you guys want to download this budget tracker that I created it is free it is in the description box of my YouTube video so make sure you go and check it out and Yeah download it all you have to do when you want to keep use it is just open it go to file and click make a copy do not request permission cuz then you'll be able to edit it for everyone so I know January looks very good in terms of my budget and variance wise I'm up versus my savings and Investments and all of that but February was a big L I have started updating my budget tracker for February and it was just awful because they over taxed me I got taxed over 2.4k in February and yeah that is ridiculous I really needed that money to save up more for my holiday so really annoyed about that but I will be doing my February how I spent my money videos soon so keep an eye out for that cuz that's not as uh positive
