Transcript of 20 English phrases to use in the morning
Video Transcript:
In this video I will teach you 20 phrases that contain super common expressions and vocabularies for your conversations in the morning, but I'm not going to show them to you in the traditional way. I have put these 20 sentences inside of a story that I am going to tell you using the technique of interactive stories, The main method within the RAIO program of my English course. The method has three simple steps : understand, listen and practice. In the first step I will read you the story sentence by sentence and translating for you to understand what it means. Then on step two. I'm going to read you the story again, this time without spanish translation, with English subtitles the first time and without subtitles the second time. And lately, on the practice part, I'm going to reread the story to you, twice times more. The first with, the second without subtitles. But this time there will be questions after each sentence in the story that you are going to answer aloud. And the beauty of studying English in this way is that you are going to remember much, much more. You will not forget what you are studying by the amount of repetitions we make and also when we put the sentence and then a question after each sentence, you are learning grammatical structures as well in a natural way Just as you learned Spanish as a child. And lately, since these phrases are inside a story with context, with meaning, you are not going to be so bored. Then, this method is great and I hope you like it. Let's start, with the first step. I am Kale Anders, your English coach and favorite Swedish. Let's get started! Step number one, understand the story. Wake up is a phrasl verb, you could say awake as a formal verb. But remember that in English we are much more casual and use these phrasal verbs turn off is another phrasal verb and means to deactivate and look over, is also a phrasal verb, which means to check, to revise my girlfriend beside me. Honey, My love, Baby, Babe are several names you can use for your girlfriend and boyfriend. Errands are shopping tasks. When you have to do errands, you have to go and get things, typically. Yeah and Yes is the same word, but yeah is much more casual. Yeah, sounds good instead of Yes, sounds good. Do you mind? Means to bother. Since the question was, do you mind if I open the windows? The answer should be No, no, i don't mind. Go ahead is a phrasal verb again that means go forward. I give you permission. Step two, listen. Ok, now we are in step number two and I will then read the story fluently. The first time with English subtitles and the second time without subtitles. And remember, it's okay not to understand everything, it's okay. We're going to repeat the story again and you'll understand more each time. Let's go! Okay? Excellent! Now, one last time. Now, without English subtitles. Don't worry if you don't understand everything, is normal. We are challenging. So let's go! Lastly, practice. Now I'm going to reread the story, but this time, after each sentence, there will be a question. I'm going to ask you a question about that sentence and all I want you to do is answer with yes or no, okay? You don't have to say the whole answer, just say yes or no, okay? We are going to do it twice, first with subtitles and then without subtitles. Remember, it's okay to make mistakes. It's okay. We will repeat and that repetition will help you learn more. So don't worry. I hope you are excited. Let's go! Excellent. Now without the subtitles. Remember, you only have to answer with Yes and no, and nothing happens if you make mistakes, you can rewind and repeat this exercise as many times as you wish. Okay? Let's go! Great, great job. You've already finished the exercise. I hope you liked it. Please tell me about here in the comments below what do you think of this type of exercise? What other topics would you like to see here as videos? Please let me know. I would love to read you. Now, this is one of the 100 interactive stories that we actually have within my English program. I love teaching through stories, because you learn vocabulary, and grammar at the same time and you learn in a natural way. I don't know if you noticed, but when asking questions in English we add what is called auxiliary verbs such as do or did in in the past tense and the place of the verb and subject is inverted. I don't know if you noticed, in regular school they would have taught you all those things, and you would have to remember about those rules when you speak, now you are learning it naturally. Just as you learned the same in Spanish as a child, then it will work if you keep repeating it this way. If you want more information about my program, I'll leave you a link here at the description to a free class that explains exactly how it works and how is the methodology and how is the program. Don't forget to like the video. Subscribe to the channel so you don't miss more videos like this one. Feel free to rewind and redo the exercise or stay here and YouTube will put a suggestion for you right here on the screen of the next video to watch. Take care of yourself. See you in the next one. Bye!
