I am looking forward to this streaming okay so first I'd like to thank our pastor our man of God our Visionary for this opportunity it's an honor for me to open this training as I'm the first Speaker I believe for the rest of this leadership training this month so apost s thank you so much for this opportunity thank you to the entire board I acknowledge Pastor Cho Pastor lastings acknowledge shimaya the rest of the leadership thank you so much for this opportunity I'm looking forward to learning with you as well I'm not just going to be sharing on this but I would definitely definitely be learning as well so it's an honor for me and um just give me one moment m so the city of the Lord Church leadership training this is the introduction to the leadership manual please let's have our notebooks ready and let us be excited for this training I'm excited as well it's an honor for me so let's be excited that is your presenter MRSA in case someone does not know my name this is your presenter for tonight looking at time let's get straight into the training so firstly we're going to Define certain terms okay so the art of leadership has been in existance for as long as there have been two human beings on Earth everyone will one day or another find themselves being a leader in their own right so this may not even it basically starts even just from home because you find yourself in a situation where maybe one person will be told responsible for the other or will assign you to handle this or organize the others or call everyone together all those are different ways in which we're being trained as Leaders so it just doesn't come let's say in the Corporate Circle just suddenly that'ss in the shirt Circle even from our own homes in our upbringing this is taking place so it may be in their home it may be at school it may be at church so we see that leadership is taking place everywhere now leadership can be defined as the art of using one's influence over others to maximize their effort towards the achievement of the go [Laughter] I'll just repeat that leadership can be defined as the art of using one's influence over others to maximize their efforts towards the achievement of a goal so the reason you're a leader the reason you're in this training is that we want to see how you can influence others to maximize their efforts and to achieve a specific goal so whether you're in a department you're in a Ministry and so forth you're leading a cell there is a goal that must be achieved and you have been chosen as the person to get the rest of the team there I hope we are all together so a leader is there for someone who has been given Authority officially or informally to exercise this influence over others so already we're seeing that leadership or your appointment of leader can be an official thing it can be very formal or it can be informal but the thing the key word here is using one's influence so there is an influence which every leader has so now being a leader by position is one thing leadership style is another so this already is getting interesting we get to see that you can be a leader and you can have your own stuff what this means is um take for example example the FTI team I'm the vice director in the first timer Ministry so there is a star of leadership I have but if I were to for example um have an interaction with the leaders of the evangelism Ministry there's their own stuff there's their own way they do things the way they run things so you see that both of us are leaders we have a position but we have a different style all together in which we run the ministry in which we get to achieve our specific spefic goals and targets so there a few type there here are a few types of interests so now we'll look at different leadership styles so first we will look at Democratic Leadership I'm sure most of us are familiar with this so in Democratic Leadership you notice that the leader makes decisions based on the input of each team member so everyone is given opportunity whether he or she make the final C but everyone is given an opportunity to express their views to share the knowledge they have and then the main leader will then make a decision based on what you will also say so it allows even those at the bottom to give an input which can be vital so the advantage with this one is that even those who have no position at all they just a member are allowed to voice out and say something so everyone is given an opportunity to be heard that is Democratic Leadership so you find maybe in some different circles this is what other people have developed as their style of leadership they are willing to listen to everyone that's why in some circles be at home at school well let me just even give the example of home where maybe your the head of the household can call the family together and say there is this situation I would like to all to hear your views and each person is an opportunity so you find a situation where in such a setup there is democracy taking place everyone is able to express everyone's able to say something starting from the youngest to the oldest in the household so the second style of leadership is autocratic leadership in this leadership style the leader makes decisions without taking input from anyone who reports to them though many speak against it in essence if the leader has a good heart this one can work when it comes to making hard decisions so with autocratic many may say it's not good rather go for a democratic setup but there are times when you will be needed as a leader to make the final call you will not even have to seek for any person's view starting from the bottom coming up so with autocratic leadership there are moments where you as the head you just have to give the final say on that and then things can move because you find with the leadership you'll be waiting until each person gives an opinion so sometimes work doesn't get done but with autocratic leadership when there something urgent that pops up something which is immediate it requires immediate action as the leader you can go ahead and make it without even hearing anyone's input but the key thing here is in essence if the leader has a good heart it can work the main thing is someone has to make the hard decisions but they are doing it from a good heart so this can apply as well as a leader so now these Styles which I'm sharing with you are so that you will see that even as you grow in leadership in city of the LA Church Global you will get exposed to different situations so this is why we're sharing the different styles of leadership and I'm sure for others here they're already able to identify what their style of leadership is and where they're falling in so the next one we have is laser fa leadership literally translates to let them do and leaders who embrace it allow those under them to come up with decisions and Implement them now it can be effective only when one has trained people so you can imagine you have these people under you you've not trained them you've not given any guidance any direction and then there's work that needs to be done you just say oh I expect this to be done what will the people well they start from each person will interpret it their own way firstly and think to get to this um go I have to go about this so you find ABCD paths each person has done their own thing and then all of a sudden you as the head will not even know where to start from so now with this one it's effective when the people have been trained because then they know what the goal is they know what our Target is what I want to achieve what am I doing in this department why do I have the position I have what exactly is my role what is exactly is my duty or okay the assignment which has been given in this how do I go about in completing the assignment so when you tell them to say you can go ahead and do it you are doing with the knowledge that I have trained them and I trust them to be able to implement everything I have done then they can go ahead and do it for some of us here the reason why we have certain positions in our various departments Ministries board and etcs because we've received a certain training from a man of God that's why you find when it comes to the way the evangelism Ministry runs there are certain decisions which they able to make as an evangelism Ministry because they've been trained so they know what to do they don't even need to seek approval for certain things because they know that it falls in our training it falls in our manual as an evangelism Ministry so the next star of leadership is transformational leadership these are the kind of leaders who are not just interested in those under them fulfilling their goals and tasks but seek to see them grow out of their comfort zone and experience growth I love this because Pastor practices this one a lot all of us here can testify that there are certain things we've gotten to learn we've there are certain skills we have acquired by virtue of us serving him because we've he's been able to push us out of our comfort zone I can give an example of myself I can clearly tell you that I only learned how to use zoom just two months ago because I was in a position where I wasn't exposed to that platform often so now that I came under apostal I had my position as a leader and we entered into a season of trainings I was now forced to learn how does Zoom work I have to install the app I have to do this I have to do that oh I have to learn how to prepare PowerPoint presentations now how to share sh them on zoom and so forth by the way I'm still learning still an ongoing process I'm not an expert at all I'm still learning but that's just an example of transformation leadership I've already been able to see the growth I've experienced in just learning how to use zo I wouldn't have had this exposure until I found myself in the position I'm in In This Very Ministry so you will find that when you're given an opportunity to even coordinate such a meeting it's preparing you for bigger platforms who knows you might be on one day to coordinate a district meeting a provincial meeting something bigger than you can imagine and we are calling our s Global imagine the kind of virtual space we will take over as a church so there are certain things we've had a certain level of exposure to because of the way our pastor has seen the vision going and he knows that to get to a certain place I need to make sure my leaders have certain skills they have certain knowledge and so in Co you work experience this even for those who are serving under somebody maybe you have your head or your director whatever their title is in your Ministries and departments you should also be ready to understand that your leaders your heads your vies your directors and BDS and so forth their goal and task is to see you grow so when they give you assignments they also want to push you to experience growth so they'll take you out of your comfort zone so when they call on you to Sal lead intercession go ahead and do it it's training it's it's all part of your growth so you will find that it's not just Pastor who's practicing this but every leader it will be Pastor CH Pastor it will be the entire board when they issue out assignments it will come from Secretariat every person in top leadership has been able to use this and for those who haven't this is also a learning point for you to be interested in the growth of the people under you because it is a mark of your leadership so when you are growing as the head your Juniors as well need to be growing so if there are certain things you're learning and you feel that knowledge is very valuable and someone can benefit from it share it with the team you don't always need to wait until pass capacity bu in and a leadership training you can organize a training for your team as well to say this is going to help you in the future and this training we've been having as well it's been transformational because all of us can testify to say there are certain things or certain aspects of our souls which have just grown so the next of leadership is coaching leadership so the leader focuses on identifying and nurturing the individual strengths of each member on his or her team they also focus on strategies that will enable their team to work better so you're not just going to focus on transforming your people you also focus on how can I then nurture what is in them so as a leader you should be able to identify the different strengths of your members and you should be able to come up with strategies that will enable all your team members work better I hope we're following and we're catching this so the next is bureaucratic leadership so this type goes by the books and put policies above input from others who making a decision so now this could be effective when setting order and culture for example not releasing money unless it is requested for a certain way so with this one standard procedure standard protocol is observed and every leader must know what is the standard protocol or policy in city of the LA Church an example is given when you're requesting for money as a Ministry you should know that there is a way to do it so as a leader do you have this knowledge are you aware and even when it comes to marriage in sity of the Lord church we have a manual on it have you familiarize yourself with it do you know what you're supposed to do as a leader do your members know what they supposed to do as well so all the manuals we have even the given manual are you familiar with it as as a leader do you know what partnership is are you in a budget group are you even familiar with that as well so you should know what um written material the church has and we have so much of it in abundance are some of us familiar with the constitution of the church so as Leaders we should know these things because then we'll be able to follow the correct procedures you won't just decide to say that oh going to have a meeting today you will follow the correct procedure and seek information the correct people say I'd like to have a meeting in such a manner how do I do it and you'll be Tau well you have to email send an official request that is why we have the Office of the President of city of the law church so if you want certain things there's a certain way to go about it so even in city of the law church we have this in place we don't just go by Oral conversations there are certain things which we will have to see properly done I hope we are enjoying this so now what is the co style so in Co leaders can carry a mix of the above leadership styles depending on the various obstacles they face the key here is you must have a kingdom mind mindset and a kingdom mindset will ensure the following things so let me just repeat that so you are free as a leader to have a mix of these different styles because you'll face different challenges as you grow in leadership in the church there'll be times where you will listen to everybody's view you be Democratic there'll be times where it's just by the books know the procedure you even tell them to say the procedure in s of the LA church is this we are not going to compromise on it we're not going to let our standards if this is what apost has said is the way then that's what we follow there are times you just stand your ground to say no this is what it is I expect all of you in uniform every Sunday you just make that decision not going to listen to any excuses and so forth be in uniform and that's it if you're not in from the penalty is this so no one will question when the next day the next time you see them you tell them all can you face the penalty because we agree to say that when it comes to this I don't listen to any excuses this is just our standard so now a kingdom mindset we ensure that a leader will put the kingdom of God above their own agenda so in essence their agenda should be transformed to the kingdom so you put the kingdom of God above your own agenda you're not here to pursue your own Endeavors but there is a kingdom mindset so as a leader have the kingdom mindset what is on your mind concerning the kingdom of God what keeps you burning what pushes you why are you a leader why are you in that Ministry Department why are you serving why are you serving the way you serve so you should be able to use your authority to serve others that's why we have you as a leader be prepared you should be able to use the authority to push the vision higher we've been learning about loyalty to the vision so we even know what the vision is as Leaders the current subject we are being taught on in the church must be something we grab a hold of it should be sealed within us what the vision is why am I in here what am I pushing for in city of the Lord Church what is city of the Lord Church pushing for so you should be able in your position as a leader to use your authority to push the vision higher and as a leader we look unto Jesus as the ultimate leader so here's our definition of who a leader is of what leadership is itself so he's our definition of everything we are doing in city of the LA Church as a leader you should be constantly ready to be trained so this is why this meeting is there tonight constant training and it's also that you should be able to grow in your leadership and you should and will be led by the holy spirit this is not something that is strange to any leader here you will and you should be led by the Holy Spirit even as you serve even as you work in this ministry I hope we're all together so now this manual focuses Less on leadership styles and focuses more on the heart of a leader have an open heart and you you will be transformed into the co leader God has designed you to be so we believe in you so much and we know that you have what it takes to fulfill the assignment God has placed on your life and in this ministry so that is the goal of this to turn you into that leader with that said allow me to say happy training the leadership manual has officially been launched now so I love you all and I'm going to hand over now to the coordinator to take us into the next segment of this program
