when you read the Bible aloud it is the same as if the heavens opened and God's voice just came down if this is the actual word of God then that is true you are hearing the voice of God not the voice of Bobby when I quote the scripture and you don't need a Bobby to do that you just need a Bible and all you need to do is say it aloud amen and then you'll hear God's voice and that stronghold will come down gosh we're on the fourth Sunday on a sermon that I thought would be a one-off that's basically become a series on the power of words and I think we're done today but who knows words are powerful aren't they worship is words prayer is words blessing is words contracts are words building plans are words hm and in fact God's words aren't just nice things he says god God's words make stuff everything we see around us at its source was God saying something god said and God saw is that right and I think a reason that the Holy Spirit will not let me leave this subject is he wants everybody to get a hold of this idea the words that we're saying have power to to kill and power to bring life power to make sick power to heal power to bring victory power to bring defeat is that right church and he wants us to get a hold of the power of words so we can have the victory even our salvation comes by words and so I'll begin with this concept that I've mentioned a lot we are at war not with people not with governments h we are at war in the spirit good versus evil christ versus Satan we are at war and it is important to understand that the enemy still has a great foothold and stronghold in the world today that Satan is not in hell he's here not in here not here he hates it here but he's out there amen and uh and just some scriptures for your own edification the first Corinthians says calls Satan the god little g of this world the god of this world h Jesus calls him the prince of this world multiple times uh the scriptures refer to uh when in our spiritual warfare that we're fighting against powers principalities and who knows the third one rulers of this world okay rulers of this world and in fact last night when I was just reading the scripture before bed the Holy Spirit pointed this one out to me in Luke chapter 4 during the temptation uh can we bring that scripture up it says the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time that's an interesting thought isn't it and said to him so this is Satan talking to Jesus to you I will give all this authority and their glory hello for it has been delivered to me and I give it to whomever I will if then you will worship me it will all be yours now notice this is a temptation for Jesus because it's possible and true that Satan has the power to give that author just give it to Jesus if he just worships him and if you go on to read Jesus does not argue the point he does not say "Oh no you don't have authority." Huh what does he say it is written "You shall worship the Lord your God worship him alone." He does not argue that he agrees with this essentially this is because it's true here's what happened adam and Eve were given all authority over earth by God and when they sinned who did they give it to to Satan and all sickness and death came into the world with Satan huh and I used this this came to me when I was having dinner with our friends and the the vision that I got was it's like um it's like between then and the crucifixion Satan and his minions went around the world with the authority that had been given to them building castles and fortresses in the spirit and just has covered the whole world with these like castles everywhere and in the crucifixion what happened was that right then the title deed to all that land and all that castles was taken away and given to Christ who has given it to us and has told us go and evict them go into all the world and kick them out go into all the world and tell them I have to go so it's like the title transferred but they haven't left yet and God has given us this this deed and our job is to show up at every castle one at a time in the name of the king be gone go huh go it's the tearing down of strongholds the tearing down of castles we go around in the name of the king go and for all the ws of the devil and his minions here's one thing they understand they understand authority they understand it and they respond to it for whatever reason they understand and they respond to that authority but they won't leave until you tell them to go and I think this is a big part of the disciplehip that is so clear in scripture that is not regularly practiced in a church today but not this church right amen amen we're going to practice that now what if you get to one of those castles and you knock on the door and you say in the name of the king be gone and they don't leave has not have you not read that the Lord has given you a sword have you not read that at your side there's a sword excalibur it's like God has given you Excalibur and when they say no you go "Huh this is Excalibur this is the sword of the spirit in fact here's a fun exercise ephesians chapter 6:1 17 says "Take up the sword of the spirit which is the what who knows it?" Which is the word of God take up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God okay here's a fun Greek exercise in the Bible there's two words for word there's logos or logos which is what we think of when we read this in the beginning was the word which was the logos and the word was with God and the word was God okay so that's so this is logos there's another word for word we've talked about it before rama rama is the spoken word of God the spoken word of God so when this is spoken aloud or when there's a prophecy or something like that that's what Rama because it's spoken right but when it's simply read it's what it's logos and both are powerful so here's here's a question for you when the scripture says take up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God what do you think the Greek word is there for word of God just guess rama it's Rama lance did you know no but obviously on a sermon it's R so think about that the sword of the spirit is the rama of God not the logos the sword of the spirit is the spoken word of God the spoken word the spoken word is the sword not the reading the spoken the speaking the saying is that right now when we read the word it's like we're sharpening the sword we're whatever we're making it stronger we're sheathing the sword we're prepping the sword we're oiling the sword but when we speak the sword we're chopping and stabbing is that right and we're saying you get out out amen right you got to do the white man underbite overbite okay that's what we used to call it when when white guys would dance they do the white man overbite this is important the word of God is the spoken word the spoken word the sword of the spirit is the spoken word of God leonard Ravenh Hill said it's so awesome he said "When God's word is read God's voice is heard." When God's word is read or said aloud God's voice is heard audibly when you read the Bible aloud it is the same it is the same as if the heavens opened and God's voice just came down if this is the actual word of God then that is true amen so think about that how many of you if God opened up the heavens and said to you "By his stripes I'm going to heal you." when you got a bad report about your health and then imagine that the you heard this great voice and then the the heavens closed and and you still were sick would you be worried at all no you'd be confident that in due time you would be made well that's called faith and it's easy to believe that when the heavens open up how many of you if you just lost your business and you just declared bankruptcy and you went through a horrible divorce or some horrible thing happened to you and the skies opened up and God said the best is yet to come or something like my provision will be there for you or something to that degree and then they closed how many of you would feel better and you would feel confident that you're going to have plenty that you're always going to have plenty of clothes and a roof you just wouldn't worry anymore how many would you feel better about that well let me just say it to you by his stripes you are healed let me just say it to you all of your needs are met you are hearing the voice of God not the voice of Bobby when when I quote this quote the scripture and you don't need a Bobby to do that you just need a Bible and all you need to do is say it aloud amen and then you'll hear God's voice and that stronghold will come down amen our faith is not what we feel it's what we say our faith is not what we feel it's what we put into practice by what we say and by what we do god is looking looking he's just looking for someone to agree with him he He's looking for someone to just agree with him amen if he says and I need your help here if he says all things are possible what should we say all things are possible okay if not the other stuff right if he says no weapon formed against you will prosper what what should we say no weapon formed against you if he says you're more than a conqueror what should we say come on church if he says by his stripes you are you are healed what should we say by his stripes you are healed yeah if he says all your needs are met what should you say all your needs are met and what does the world say how are we going to pay the rent how are we going to do this everything's going bad in fact what do most Jesusloving born again Biblebelieving Christians say how are we going to pay the rent how are we going to get those shoes oh I'm not feeling good oh things are looking bad oh our country is going here oh our state's going there oh our kids are losing their faith hm is that what the Bible says no god's looking for someone to come in agreement with him this is what most Christians say and they haven't received training but they're just saying whatever comes to mind will the enemy bring things to your mind yes and in fact the more on track you are the more he's going to try and get you off track by speaking to your mind so most people they don't say the word of God even though they say they believe it they they're saying what they feel they're saying what they see in the natural and they're saying what they reason in other words they're leaning on their own understanding but we are deciding today every person in this house is not going to lean on their own understanding or their feelings or what they see what are we going to rely on we're going to rely on the word we're going to trust in the Lord with all our heart amen open your Bibles to James 3:10 james 3 all right james 3:10 we've read this a few times but I just want to point this out out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing my brothers and sisters this should not be can both fresh water and salt water come from the same spring it's important that we understand in the early church and for the Jewish community in general blessing and cursing was a much bigger deal to them than it was to us to them a blessing or a curse was the biggest deal that meant everything was changing jesus cursed the fig tree what happened to the fig tree dead dead dead forever forever huh jesus blessed the sick what happened healed healed healed right and in fact for the disciples and many others and we're going to see here from Balum in a minute that that blessing and that curse like when we think of blessing we're like bless you with au bless you no you know bless this food bless this pizza you know pizza is already pre- blessed we know that but uh no no we you know when when we bless something it's like we're in the same way that God makes stuff with his words if we are in God's kingdom our stuff is making and destroying stuff it's a it's a huge brother this is a huge deal that when we bless and when we curse it should not come out of the same well james tells us that blessing is like fresh water and cursing is like salt water if you mix fresh water and salt water what do you get salt water it's all salt water right you don't get almost fresh water okay let me ask you a question if I if someone says I always get allergies is that a blessing or a curse somebody say it's a curse that's not what the Bible says the Bible doesn't say you always get allergies i see it i feel it h now there's nothing wrong going to the doctor and saying "I have allergies you have a med medicine." But what we say is in spite of the fact that I have allergies what declare the word over it let me ask you here's another expression don't play in the street you'll get hit by a car when you say say it to your children is that a blessing or a curse is it a blessing or a curse church it's a curse somebody here is saying "Well what do I say to my children?" Here's what you say don't play in the street that's it there's no reason to tie a curse to a command just say "Don't play in a street." Don't say "Don't play in the street you'll get hit by a car you'll get hit by a car it is based on fear it's a curse um here's another one don't go to college you'll lose your faith is that a blessing or a curse how about just saying either one saying don't go to college I ain't paying for it or two say go you go to college and you be a light you preach the gospel you bring the word wherever you're going that is a place that needs the Lord it is a place where you can learn stuff but you also don't there's some things you don't have to take you can go forward in power h my daughter my freshman daughter uh just went from junior high to high school she went from a Christian school to a public school and and I was I gave her the H and I gave her the choice we asked her to discern in the Lord what to do and here's what she said she said "I want to go and I want to bring the gospel she's finishing a year can I tell you she's bringing the gospel to that school can I tell you that it's bringing life to her not death she said "I've never heard more f-words in my life including from her English teacher by the way." But is but that's the world as she likes to say the world is rated R isn't it so so we don't say you can't go to public school you lose your faith we say we are launching this missile of godliness and goodness into the public school because kids there are hurting they need the gospel amen is that a blessing or a curse that's a blessing here's another one anytime I invest I lose is that a blessing or a curse y'all catching what I'm saying what you say is important it's amazing you talk to business people they see this i think business people know this it's amazing how many business people you talk to are like "It was luck." Like I'm talking about non-Christians like it was just luck i don't know okay what you're saying is having a big impact in the spiritual world if you want power just bless like crazy if you want power just bless all the time bless this bless that bless your enemies right that's what Jesus tells us bless your neighbor bless your car bless your business bless your family bless your spouse hello bless them bless your kids bless your grandkids amen bless your country bless your state bless your city bless your governor bless your president bless your mayor bless your boss somebody say amen to bless your boss amen that's the hardest one for some of you y'all got to bless see when you bless things it gets on you when you curse things it gets on you because it's coming through your body coming out your mouth is that right god bless bless if you want to bless me by the way you just hit that subscribe button and I feel the blessing from the Lord you guys want to hear something great we we just cleared 250,000 subscribers now what's cra What's crazy about that it took us forever to go from 70,000 to 100,000 like nine weeks ago and in nine is it nine weeks 10 weeks something like that in that period of time we went from 100,000 to 250,000 so join the crew and what do you who here might remember the first week of January I think I said something that many of you who are in the YouTube space thought was impossible i said I think we're going to clear a million by the end of the year and I kind that seems a lot more possible now doesn't it and I'll say it again i believe we can and will clear a million subscribers by the end of the year will you believe it with me hey all right if you believe it then all right all right someone say "Faith pleases God." Faith God okay faith above all things faith pleases God you just see Jesus all the time where's the faith where are the people that believe where's the faith faith the Bible says is calling things in Romans 4 calling things that be not as though they were calling things that aren't as though they were that's what Jesus does when he says that the dead dead little girl is just sleeping that's what God says when he sees a void universe it says "God said this and then God saw." God said "God saw." We said that last week here's another one if you had the We talked about this last week if you had the faith of a mustard seed you would say to this mountain you if you had the faith of a mustard seed you would say say say what does the prophet Joel say and now let the weak say what i am strong notice not let the weak say I am weak i'm a weakling i need you i'm begging you God please look how weak I am no now let the weak say I am strong and what's the next one and now let the poor say what i am rich that's faith not what you feel not even what you observe but what the word says is what's actually true for us amen amen and uh this is why Christians are not Christians have received really good teaching on salvation this is why we're not hot and bothered when the world looks at a Christian and says they got saved and they're still a sinner right we go no he's saved well but he did this and that well the cross see see that we have it we have it there we're proclaiming the cross even though what we see in the natural may not be what we what is perfect right we're proclaiming do the same thing with everything else do it with everything everything amen okay um turn with you in your Bibles to Numbers chapter 22 i'm weighing I got to this in the first service four minutes to teach on Balum is it's not a lot but we're just going to trust the Holy Spirit amen and some people say "Why don't you just preach longer?" And let me just tell you I usually do but these constraints are good for me because uh I think constraints help help me focus so Holy Spirit I just ask you to help me teach on this last part and I and I pray that those who have ears to hear would hear it and in fact all of us commit now that we're going to hear from you Lord numbers 22:1 then the Israelites traveled to the plains of Moab and camped along the Jordan across from Jericho so the Israelites have come out of Egypt and they're approaching the promised land and the locals are very scared we forget how scared the locals are keep in mind the Israelites just defeated the greatest army in the world the Egyptians word like that doesn't stay in Egypt it gets everywhere they're all ter terrified so the funny is the Israelites are terrified but the people that are seeing them are more terrified than them than the Israelites ain't that interesting now Balo and from here on I'm just going to say the king because Balo and Balum sounds so similar that's confusing but now the king son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites and Moab was terrified because there was so much there were so many people indeed Moab was filled with dread because of the Israelites the Moab said to the elders of Midian "This horde this horde is going to lick up everything around us as an ox licks up the grass of the field." What are they saying they're going to eat us and enjoy it they're going to knock us down left right and center there is going to be one left from us we're going to nourish them in our defeat is this helping them or hurting them based on what we've learned today is they're going to lick us up like an ox licks up the grass is that good or bad is that helping them or hurting them see if only so many of us would just stop shooting ourselves in the foot with our words giving the enemy the right to get back at us so the king son of Zippor who was the king of Moab at the time sent messengers to Simon Balam son of Bor who was at Por near the Euphrates River in the native land and Bailo said "A people has come out of Egypt they cover the face of the land and have settled next to me now come and put a curse on these people because they've become too powerful for me perhaps then I'll be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land for I know that whatever you bless is blessed and whatever you curse is cursed imagine they said that people in other countries said that about you whatever Jan whatever Ryan whatever Bobby whatever Joseph says happens so much so I will pay him whatever sum he wants because I know if I go up against the worst army in the world and all he does is curse them that they'll lose that's what this is the elders of Moab and Midian left taking with them the fee for divination and when they came to Balum they told him what Balo said and I want you to notice something they say "Curse these people and we'll give you any just name your price." Millions hundreds of millions of dollars equivalent and chariots and land you want that land over there we'll give you that land we'll give you what name your price and Balam doesn't say yes or no notice that Balum doesn't really say anything he tells them to wait the night spend the night here Balam said and I will report back to you with the answer the Lord gave me so the Moabitete officials stayed with him now what happened then balam stays up all night doing whatever he needs to do to hear from the Lord i said all night long to hear from God imagine that anytime we had an opportunity or a challenge or something like that that we went before the throne of God this is the main thing I want you to capture here the main thing I want you to capture is that uh Balum gets all of his power from saying what God says to him hm not what he feels not what he thinks is good what the Lord says is that right and that's why he has so much power he says "I can only do what the Lord said." When something amazing comes to Balum he doesn't just talk he says "Let me go before the Lord." This is how he gets the power to curse and to bless with such effective power this is so important next time you get a bad report it is critical critical what comes out of your mouth if you get a bad financial report a bad health report if you're if you're not in a good place it is critical it is so critical that what comes out of your mouth my grandpa used to say "Never cut a tree down in the winter." Because in a winter season it looks like everything is dead but you may cut down something that's alive never make a big decision when you're in a bad mood if you're down and you're blue wait let the wave pass and whatever you do don't speak out of that rough mood you're probably in a wrestle with an unclean spirit that is wanting to take victory over your life and the way he gets victory we learned this from Job last week is by getting you to curse and in fact if you want to be proactive just muscle up and speak a blessing just white knuckle your way and speak the word of God and you will see the victory in your life amen now I don't have a lot of time but let me just finish by saying Balam finally implores God because he wants the money to and God takes him and when he's wants to curse he blesses them and then and then the king says "No no no try it over here." And then he was about to curse and then he just pours out this immense blessing on them and the king says "You don't have to curse them just don't bless them." Huh isn't it amazing this pagan king you know knows that that's bad news for him that his enemy has been blessed by the Lord okay repeat after me now this is this is the word of Baal bam says to the king I will not speak he says "I will speak what the Lord puts in my mouth." That's a good declaration let's say it together i will speak I will speak what the Lord what the Lord puts in my mouth puts in my mouth amen one more time i will speak I will speak what the Lord what the Lord puts in my mouth puts in my mouth amen finally thought final thought we need to be led by our friend the Holy Spirit in our words does the Holy Spirit give us words he does now if you've are a Christian and you've been a Christian a long time and you feel like you can't hear God's voice be careful not to say something like "I can't hear God's voice." Or "I never hear God's voice." Let me ask you again the phrase "I can't hear God's voice." Is that a blessing or a curse that's a curse you're cursing yourself you're giving yourself deafness spiritual deafness when you say that okay because that's not what God said god said you can hear his voice and you do hear his voice if you're a sheep and you've been baptized and you know the Lord you can hear his voice john 10:27 "My sheep know my voice and they follow me." See that's the truth what you experience what you feel is not true this is what's true and so if you've never heard the voice of God in your life you say the word of God aloud i am a sheep and I hear God's voice i know what it sounds like i will not follow the voice of a stranger but I will follow the voice of the Lord he speaks to me he guides me when I need to hear him he'll talk i know what he says i know what his voice sounds like you say it aloud don't think it say it amen let's declare with me i can hear from God i can hear from God i hear his voice and I follow i hear his voice I follow i will not follow the voice of a stranger i will not follow the voice of I only follow the voice of the Lord i only Amen now last thought balam wanted that money so bad at the end of the story he could only bless and bless and so finally the king says "I'm not giving you any money." And we see in Numbers 31 that Balam goes back to the king and he says "Look I can't curse them but I know how you can get them to curse themselves." To curse themselves you send the Moabitete women into their camp to seduce them and convince them to bow down to other gods and they will lose that protection h can we curse ourselves the only person that can curse you really if you're under God's protection is you so no more right all right stand with me here we go we're going to wipe out every right now we're just going to wipe out every negative assignment and curse whether it came from you or from your parents or from any other thing the blood of Jesus is more than enough we're holding up the title to that stronghold and we're saying get out go the in the name of the king you go lift your hands with me friends father we come into your presence and we bring before you your word and your covenant it is true today as it has always been true we plead the blood of Jesus over every negative assignment over every unclean spirit over every curse whether we've said it or our parents have said it or people in authority have said it we remove it now it is deleted forever we thank you Lord that only your blessing is upon us our house our children and our bloodline we now proclaim over ourselves we are more than conquerors we proclaim over ourselves we lack nothing we proclaim over ourselves we are healed in the name of Jesus we proclaim over ourselves what the scripture says that healing is the children's bread we eat of that bread now we thank you Lord that you have called us to blessing and not curse and we stand in victory and all God's people said "Amen in Jesus name."
